Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Shlemenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Cano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shlemenko comes to the cage accompanied by Rolex. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Randy Cano!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cano circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shlemenko throws a head kick that Cano semi-blocks.
Shlemenko stuffs the takedown attempt from Cano. Cano gets slowly back to his feet.
Cano is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shlemenko drives through and clinches with Cano against the cage.

Shlemenko decides to pull guard.
Cano is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Shlemenko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cano looking to sit in guard and control but Shlemenko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Cano is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Cano scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Cano takes a kick to the side of the head.
Shlemenko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cano.
Shlemenko tries a head kick but it misses.
Despite the aggression on Cano's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Alex Shlemenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cano shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shlemenko but Shlemenko pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Alex Shlemenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Cano.

Cano is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shlemenko to keep the fight standing.

Shlemenko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cano avoids the head kick by Shlemenko.
Cano throws a counter combo.
Cano throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shlemenko's waist but Shlemenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cano off to one side.
Cano tries to close the distance and clinch but Shlemenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shlemenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Shlemenko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cano, pushing him back against the cage.
Shlemenko misses with a punch on the inside.

Shlemenko lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Cano backwards.

Shlemenko breaks from the clinch.
Shlemenko throws a nice head kick!
Cano tries to clinch but Shlemenko is having none of it.

Shlemenko has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shlemenko misses with a short punch on the inside.

Cano escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shlemenko throws a head kick that misses.
Cano avoids the head kick by Shlemenko.
Shlemenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shlemenko tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cano counters with a straight right hand.
Cano looks to land a right hand but Shlemenko moved out of range.
Cano cracks Shlemenko with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Shlemenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cano moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cano tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shlemenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Cano.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sloppy strikes from Shlemenko. Those never looked like landing.
Shlemenko is breathing heavily.
Cano misses with a takedown attempt - Shlemenko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Shlemenko has managed to clinch.
Shlemenko lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Cano backwards.
Shlemenko tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Cano throws a punch but it's blocked by Shlemenko.

Cano pulls guard effortlessly.
Cano wants to stand but Shlemenko is controlling the position.
Cano wants to sweep here but Shlemenko controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Cano gets tackled into the cage by Shlemenko. Shlemenko maintains the clinch.

Cano tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shlemenko.

Cano is trying to maintain a safe position but Shlemenko gets an underhook and turns Cano into the cage.

Cano ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cano no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Shlemenko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd cheers as Shlemenko lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cano doesn't seem phased though.

Cano feints and as Shlemenko raises his hands in defense, Cano changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shlemenko is looking to stand back up but Cano counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Shlemenko.

Shlemenko manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Cano avoids a punch combination nicely.

Cano keeps the fight on the outside.
Cano blocks a head kick by Shlemenko.
Shlemenko throws a push kick but Cano slaps the foot to one side.
Cano fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Shlemenko swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
