The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch misses with a takedown attempt - Porter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Porter is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Punch goes for a double leg but Porter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Porter continues to drive forward.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Porter can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Porter replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Punch blocks it well.

Porter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Punch does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Porter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Punch's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Porter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Punch tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Porter is in Punch's guard.

Punch pushes Porter off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Porter rushes Punch and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Porter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Punch but Punch pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Punch is defended easily by Porter.

Punch explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
