Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phil Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Blue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phil Perez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bubba Blue!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perez tries to keep at a distance but Blue has taken the fight into the clinch.
Perez tries to circle away but Blue has him pinned against the cage.

Blue works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Perez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez keeping full guard, as Blue tries to pass.
Perez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blue manages to get himself to full guard.

Blue trying to keep a closed guard but Perez is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blue is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Blue is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Perez is aware though and is defending well.

Blue controls Perez momentarily but Perez frees himself.

Perez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Blue is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Blue thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Blue had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Perez defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Blue is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Blue has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Perez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Blue has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Perez is working away from the top position though.
Perez blocks the strikes from Blue.
Blue has hold of Perez's hands but Perez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blue desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Perez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Blue's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bubba Blue dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Blue explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Blue clinches up against the cage.
Perez trying to control the position but instead, Blue has worked for underhooks and has pushed Perez into the cage.

Perez manages to break the clinch.
Phil Perez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Blue scores with the left hand. Perez knows he should have avoided that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Blue has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Perez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Perez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Blue's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Blue manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blue jumps guard but Perez turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Blue has his foot on Perez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Perez works his way back into a safe position though.

Perez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blue napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Blue has closed the distance and engaged Perez in a clinch.

Blue manages to pull guard.
Blue seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Perez lands a couple of digs.

Blue has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Blue throws his legs up looking for a submission but Perez uses it to pass to side control.
Bubba Blue has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Blue manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Blue wants to control but Perez is keeping busy.
Blue wants to sweep but Perez has passed to side control!

Blue throws Perez to one side and escapes!
Perez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bubba Blue showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Perez moves in looking to clinch but Blue pushes him off.
Blue shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perez but Perez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Perez drives through with a takedown into Blue's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Blue manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Perez feints and as Blue raises his hands in defense, Perez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Blue makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Blue is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Perez is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Blue is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Blue seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Perez won't allow Blue to pass to mount.
Nice strikes from Blue there.

Blue seems to be working for a kimura but Perez defends the submission attempt.
Perez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Perez.
Blue prevents Perez from getting back to his feet.
Perez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Blue is stalling in the full guard.
Blue scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Perez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Blue looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Blue stands and steps away. Perez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Blue moves into the clinch.

Blue manages to break the clinch.
Perez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Perez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Phil Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba Blue.

Blue drives through and clinches with Perez against the cage.

Perez is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Perez is stalling here.

Perez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Perez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Blue passes Perez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Blue wants to work for an arm triangle but Perez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Perez pushes Blue off but Blue dives into side control.
Phil Perez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bubba Blue is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Bubba Blue comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Blue has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
