Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cody Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cody Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Kennedy !
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kennedy counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Kennedy breaks from the clinch.
Kennedy throws a series of punches but Miller moves out of range.
Miller tries a head kick but it misses.
Miller tries for a takedown but Kennedy circles away easily

and Kennedy counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kennedy .
Miller wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Kennedy has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Miller uses from the top position.

Kennedy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kennedy wanted to stand there but Miller had control of the position.
Kennedy wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.
Miller looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kennedy is one step ahead there.
Kennedy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kennedy would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kennedy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kennedy working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A head kick from Kennedy lands but Miller takes it in his stride.

Miller shoots for a double leg takedown but Kennedy sprawls well. He's pushed Miller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Miller has his foot on Kennedy 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kennedy works his way back into a safe position though.

Miller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kennedy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kennedy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Justin Kennedy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kennedy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
