The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for THE HAMMER, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Joans changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. THE HAMMER tries to avoid it but Joans manages to keep hold of a leg and drag THE HAMMER to the ground. THE HAMMER escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
THE HAMMER keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Joans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikey Joans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown by Joans or perhaps it was just good defense by THE HAMMER which made him look bad.
THE HAMMER lands a two punch combo.
Joans looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? THE HAMMER is fending him off so far but Joans persists. Nope, THE HAMMER circles away and we're back to standing.
Joans shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with THE HAMMER but THE HAMMER pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Joans seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. THE HAMMER shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Joans is backing up but THE HAMMER catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Joans covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! THE HAMMER Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
