Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willard Beasley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Beasley. No joy for Hunter on that attempt.
Beasley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hunter defends well and Beasley ends up having to push Hunter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hunter with a poor takedown
and Beasley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Beasley closes the distance and clinches.
Beasley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hunter smiles and moves away.
A head kick from Beasley lands but Hunter takes it in his stride.
Hunter checks a leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice sprawl there from Beasley as Hunter shoots in.
Willard Beasley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Hunter.

Beasley pushes Hunter up against the cage in a clinch.

Hunter breaks the clinch.

Hunter shoots in and drives through. Beasley sprawls well.
As Hunter tries to get set, Beasley tries to push him back and clinch up but Hunter manages to avoid the attempt.
Beasley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hunter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Beasley is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hunter.

Beasley backing away here, and Hunter unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Beasley shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hunter eats them both and turns towards Beasley to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Beasley has a takedown stuffed.

Beasley closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hunter quickly recovers to half guard.

Hunter manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Beasley keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beasley pulls guard.

Beasley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hunter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hunter controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Beasley wants to sweep here but Hunter controlling him for the moment.

Hunter is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hunter is working Beasley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Beasley is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Hunter stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Beasley has taken the fight to the clinch.
Beasley jumps guard but Hunter stands there with Beasley around his waist. Beasley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Beasley is breathing heavily.
Beasley has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Hunter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Beasley throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hunter lands a big uppercut and Beasley crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Beasley looks OK. Hunter waves Beasley back to his feet!


It looks like Willard Beasley has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hunter gets the takedown into side control.


Beasley is rocked!
Beasley is being controlled here.
Oh Beasley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Beasley takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Hunter stands up and beckons Beasley to his feet.
Hunter shoots for a takedown but Beasley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Beasley feinted with a counter takedown.
A head kick by Beasley misses
and Hunter makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Hunter closes the distance looking for a takedown. Hunter picks Beasley up and slams him brutally to the floor. Beasley is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Mark Hunter!
After the fight, Mark Hunter was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
