Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eldar Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bugurt Bugurtov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eldar Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bugurt Bugurtov!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bugurtov shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Bugurtov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bugurtov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bugurtov looks to throw a body kick
and Smith counters with a nice uppercut.
Bugurtov tries to score with a low kick but Smith moves his leg out of the way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smith misses with a hook. Bugurtov ducked under it nicely.

Bugurtov uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.

Despite the aggression on Bugurtov's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And Bugurtov responds with a good body kick, but Smith manages to step out the way in time.

Bugurtov thinks about the counter body kick.
Bugurt Bugurtov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bugurtov manages to get himself to full guard.

Oooooh!!! Smith has knocked Bugurtov down with a huge combo! Smith steps away and waves a wobbly Bugurtov back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
