Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Repper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Smolarek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smolarek has chosen False Pretense as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Repper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viktor Smolarek!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smolarek drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smolarek landing with the ground and pound.
Repper will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Repper tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Smolarek gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Repper throws a sloppy head kick and Smolarek moves out of range easily.
Repper slips a jab and a cross from Smolarek.

Repper bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Smolarek explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Repper.
Viktor Smolarek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smolarek keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Repper fails to land with a series of punches.

and Repper decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Smolarek's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smolarek can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Smolarek closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Repper is trying to break the clinch but Smolarek has him pressed against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Smolarek.
Smolarek gets through Repper's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Smolarek breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Smolarek pulls Repper into guard.
Smolarek wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Repper wants to control from the top but Smolarek keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smolarek decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Repper tries to close the distance and clinch but Smolarek swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Repper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Repper is looking for a kimura but Smolarek is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Repper to get the leverage.

Smolarek has one foot on Repper's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Repper misses with a takedown

and Smolarek counters by moving into the clinch.

Repper tries to pull guard but Smolarek holds him up against the cage and eventually Repper drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Repper. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Repper's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
The referee calls for Smolarek to work.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Smolarek creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Smolarek lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Repper has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smolarek is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Smolarek breaks the clinch.

Repper throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Repper has a takedown stuffed.
Smolarek throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Smolarek tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Repper was well out of range. Poor timing from Smolarek.

Smolarek will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Repper closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smolarek to the mat! Smolarek manages to get full guard.
Jack Repper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Smolarek lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Repper!

Let's hope that Smolarek has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack Repper will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Repper has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Smolarek.

Smolarek stands and steps away. Repper gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Repper closes the distance and clinches up with Smolarek, looking for a takedown. Repper pushes Smolarek against the cage but Smolarek circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Smolarek is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Smolarek shoots in and bounces Repper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Viktor Smolarek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smolarek has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
