Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, El Matador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Parent!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matador throws a leg kick but Parent sees it coming and moves out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as Parent blocks the leg kick.
Parent will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
We've been hearing reports that Matador has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Parent shoots in for a double leg but Matador sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Good leg kick by Matador there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Matador takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Parent looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
El Matador has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Parent.
Matador swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It seemed like Parent was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Parent throws a right hand that Matador ducks under and follows up with a left that Matador also avoids with ease.
Parent avoids a punch combination nicely.
Parent fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sloppy strikes from Matador. Those never looked like landing.
As Matador backs off Parent throws a huge counter combo but Matador manages to avoid it all.
Parent lands an overhand right.
Matador connects with an inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

My spies in Death Valley Training Facility inform me that Parent has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parent decides to stand up, so the ref orders Matador to his feet.
Matador shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Matador turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Matador lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Parent has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Parent and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Parent is defended easily by Matador.
Matador tries to bum rush Parent with a series of wild strikes but Parent uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Parent looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matador throws a right and a left that both miss.
Parent checks the leg kick nicely there.
Parent looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Parent fails with an attempt to clinch.

Matador moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Bobby Parent has been cut.
Matador wants to land a leg kick but Parent is out of range.
Matador throws a leg kick that is checked
and Parent counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Parent blocks a leg kick.
Matador attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Matador throws a low kick but it's checked well by Parent.
Parent is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Parent fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Matador avoids it really well and circles away.
Parent throws a good cross that connects.
Parent shoots in looking for a takedown but Matador manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Parent's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Matador lands a leg kick that knocks Parent off balance momentarily.

Parent drives through with a takedown into Matador's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matador wants to stand but Parent is controlling the position.
Parent slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Matador wants to stand and escape but Parent is having none of it.
Matador utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Matador manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Matador lands with a light punch inside.

Parent successfully pulls guard.

Matador postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Parent is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Matador, into his guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Parent trying to control but Matador is working from the bottom.

Matador has his feet on Parent's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Matador dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Parent. That did some damage!
Parent showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Matador.
Matador throws a leg kick
enabling Parent to counter with a crisp jab.

Matador lands a left and a right that sends Parent crashing to the canvas! Matador dives into mount looking to finish!


Parent is rocked!
Matador cracks Parent with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). El Matador!
El Matador bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
