Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerrold Bentley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rorke Shukri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jerrold Bentley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rorke Shukri!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bentley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shukri's waist but Shukri gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bentley off to one side.

Shukri closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shukri lands in his opponent's guard.
Bentley looking to control.
Bentley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shukri is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shukri tries to roll over but Bentley keeps him under control.
Shukri keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bentley is thwarting Shukri's attempts to control the position.
Bentley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Shukri avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bentley.
Bentley thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Shukri is looking to improve his position.
Shukri is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bentley jumps into side control!
Bentley is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Shukri will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Shukri is looking for a sweep.
Bentley wants to control but Shukri is keeping him busy.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Check out the look on Bentley's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Shukri takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bentley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shukri tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bentley easily slips into full mount!
Bentley misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Shukri is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bentley looking to finish Shukri with some ground and pound. This is bad for Shukri!
Shukri is looking to get to half guard.

Shukri wants to hold on but Bentley pushes him away.
Shukri looks winded!
Bentley looking to control but Shukri is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shukri is desperately trying to improve his position but Bentley has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bentley putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Shukri gets back to half guard.
Bentley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shukri with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bentley is trying to control. Shukri wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shukri tries to get to full guard but Bentley has control of the leg.

Jerrold Bentley dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Bentley shoots in and bounces Shukri off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Shukri wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bentley manages to pass to side control.
Shukri preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shukri wants to get back to full guard but Bentley has passed into side control.

Bentley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shukri can't do much from the bottom here.
Shukri is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
The ground and pound from Bentley seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A lull in the action here.

Bentley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Shukri's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Shukri tries to improve position but can't.

Bentley working the body and head with strikes.
Bentley trying to control the action but Shukri is working from the bottom.
Shukri is breathing heavily.
Shukri wants to control but Bentley postures up.
Bentley controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bentley has his takedown stuffed
enabling Shukri to counter with a crisp jab.

Bentley gets a clinch.

Shukri tries to break free but Bentley pushes him back against the cage.
Bentley landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Bentley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Shukri closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bentley tries to bench press Shukri off him but Shukri keeps the position.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Bentley tries to improve position but can't.
Bentley tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Shukri presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Shukri avoids the attempt from Bentley to control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jerrold Bentley will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bentley stays in close to Shukri's body and controls the position.
Shukri looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bentley is one step ahead there.

Bentley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shukri can do to turn this around?

Bentley prevents Shukri from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Shukri throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bentley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bentley.
Shukri tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Shukri rolls, trying to escape but Bentley keeps control of the position.
Shukri is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Bentley lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Shukri hold on?!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Bentley controlling the positon.

Jerrold Bentley showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bentley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
