Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charlee Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otavio Ikuhisa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charlee Chase has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlee Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Otavio Ikuhisa!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chase wants to clinch up but Ikuhisa keeps it at a distance.
Chase shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chase darts in looking for a takedown but Ikuhisa gets double underhooks and turns Chase into the cage.

Ikuhisa tries to sprawl but Chase drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Chase seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ikuhisa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ikuhisa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Chase wants to work for an arm triangle but Ikuhisa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chase is pressing down on Ikuhisa's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ikuhisa is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chase looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Chase not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Chase misses with a head shot. Ikuhisa uses the momentum to regain guard.
Chase tries to free his leg and advance position but Ikuhisa is retaining full guard.
Ikuhisa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chase is controlling him.

Chase might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chase wants to control from the top but Ikuhisa keeps moving.
Chase is looking to work some ground and pound but Ikuhisa has wrist control.
Chase looking to sit in guard and control but Ikuhisa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ikuhisa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ikuhisa stops Chase from standing up.

Chase had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ikuhisa defends it easily.
Chase pulls Ikuhisa in close to prevent any damage.

Ikuhisa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ikuhisa wanted to stand there but Chase had control of the position.
Ikuhisa wants to pass the guard but Chase is keeping the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Chase knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ikuhisa on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Chase tries for a takedown but Ikuhisa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Ikuhisa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chase looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ikuhisa keeps the fight on the outside.

Ikuhisa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chase sprawls well initially but Ikuhisa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ikuhisa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ikuhisa is looking to stall here but Chase recovers full guard.

Ikuhisa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ikuhisa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chase throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Chase working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ikuhisa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ikuhisa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ikuhisa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ikuhisa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Chase trying to keep a closed guard but Ikuhisa is proving a slippery customer.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chase.
Ikuhisa tries to counter by closing the distance.

Ikuhisa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Otavio Ikuhisa has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ikuhisa working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Chase is trying to control Ikuhisa's posture but Ikuhisa avoids it.

Ikuhisa distracts Chase with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Ikuhisa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Chase on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chase tries to get out of the position.

Otavio Ikuhisa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Chase shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ikuhisa as he jumps to the side.

Chase closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ikuhisa regains half guard, as Chase was trying to land strikes.
Ikuhisa is pressing down on Chase's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Chase in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ikuhisa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Chase got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ikuhisa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chase has managed to get both his arms back between Ikuhisa's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Chase feints and as Ikuhisa raises his hands in defense, Chase changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Chase drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ikuhisa dives on top into guard.

Ikuhisa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Otavio Ikuhisa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ikuhisa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
