PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lewis Tabor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lewis Tabor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brock Turner!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tabor shoots in and drives through. Turner sprawls well.
Tabor goes for a double leg but Turner avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Turner continues to drive forward.

Turner closes the distance and clinches.

Tabor tries to circle away but Turner has him pinned against the cage.

Tabor jumps guard and drags Turner to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Tabor controls Turner momentarily but Turner frees himself.
Turner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tabor works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Tabor has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Turner is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Tabor.
You can see the frustration on Tabor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Turner fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Tabor takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turner has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Bonsai Club MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Turner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Turner lands a nice forearm strike.

Tabor wants to control but Turner postures up.

Tabor is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Turner off and has taken his back!

Tabor has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Tabor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Turner's waist but Turner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tabor off to one side.
Turner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tabor wants to hit a switch here but Turner passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tabor there!

Tabor is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Tabor is bucking up trying to escape but Turner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Turner breaks from Tabor's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Turner lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Tabor can't escape the position.

Tabor keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Turner lands with some strikes.
Turner scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Turner wants to control the pace but Tabor is squirming around nicely.

Tabor tries to hold on but Turner pushes him away.
Turner pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Turner cracks Tabor with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tabor is trying to escape the mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brock Turner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Tabor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Horrible takedown attempt by Turner or perhaps it was just good defense by Tabor, which made it look bad.
Turner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Despite the aggression on Turner's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Tabor lands with a nice combination. Turner backs away looking to recover.
Turner darts in looking for a takedown but Tabor gets double underhooks and turns Turner into the cage.
Tabor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Tabor throws a looping overhand right but Turner ducks down to avoid it.
Turner now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Turner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tabor but Tabor pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Tabor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tabor slaps away a takedown attempt from Turner, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Tabor shoots in and drives through. Turner sprawls well.

Turner clinches up with Tabor and pushes him back against the cage.

Turner goes for a takedown in the clinch but Tabor prevents it.

Brock Turner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Turner tries to land knees in the clinch but Tabor avoids the damage to the body.

Turner works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Turner wants to pass the guard but Tabor is keeping the position.

Turner engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Turner wants to stand but Tabor has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Turner content to stall in guard here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Brock Turner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Turner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
