The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews with a lazy takedown attempt
and Hammer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hammer with a hook.
Matthews walks into a stiff left hand from Hammer.
Matthews is breathing heavily.
Hammer connects with a body shot.
Hammer scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Matthews doesn't seem bothered though.
Matthews is looking to clinch but Hammer is avoiding it.
Good shot there by Hammer.
Hammer closes the distance and clinches.
Hammer presses Matthews against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Hammer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Matthews backwards.
Matthews is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hammer unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Matthews! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Hammer is unloading with more strikes now! Matthews drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

A relieved looking Frank Hammer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
