The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ter Harkel fails in his attempt to clinch.
Awe lands a slapping body shot.
Awe stuns Ter Harkel with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ter Harkel has his takedown stuffed
and Awe counters with a left and a right that stings Ter Harkel.
Awe scores with a nice right hand.
Awe takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ter Harkel's coach down at Double XX was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ter Harkel's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Awe scores with a shot to the body.
Ter Harkel shoots and misses
and Awe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jan Hendrik Ter Harkel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ter Harkel shoots in for a takedown but Awe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ajala Awe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Hendrik Ter Harkel.

Awe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Ter Harkel drops his hands momentarily and Awe takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Ter Harkel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Awe is fending him off so far but Ter Harkel persists. Nope, Awe circles away and we're back to standing.

Awe ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ter Harkel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Awe swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Awe was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Decent striking displayed by Awe there.
Ter Harkel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Awe but Awe pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ter Harkel is rocked!
Ter Harkel gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Awe gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Ter Harkel is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
