The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pants swinging wildly here.
Deathgrip half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Deathgrip has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pants finds it's way round the side to connect with Deathgrip's head.

Deathgrip closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Deathgrip advances to mount.
Deathgrip thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Deathgrip is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pants has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pants!
Pants is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pants won't allow Deathgrip to sweep him here.
Deathgrip lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Deathgrip pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pants is keeping the position for now.
Deathgrip slips nicely into half guard.

Deathgrip has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Pants tries to reverse the position but Deathgrip maintains control.
Deathgrip tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Pants is looking to get to half guard.
Pants gets back to half guard.
Deathgrip moves nicely into side control.
Deathgrip wants to control but Pants is keeping him busy.

Deathgrip is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pants knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Pants is looking for a sweep.

Pants tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deathgrip fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Deathgrip advances nicely into full mount.

Deathgrip looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Pants is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Deathgrip throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Pants has his hands clasped together but Deathgrip breaks the hold and Pants is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Deathgrip!
