The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halal throws a nice inside leg kick.
Burgess throws a one two combo.
A combination from Halal does no damage.
Halal lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Brendan Burgess has been cut.

Halal gets caught flat footed, as Burgess shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Burgess wants to stand and escape but instead Halal has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Burgess wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Halal controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Halal has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Halal prevents Burgess from getting back to his feet.
Burgess looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Halal puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Halal is taking a breather. Burgess says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Halal is trying to control. Burgess wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Burgess is trying to hold Halal in close to prevent damage but Halal has managed to pass into half guard.

and Halal counters with a series of strikes. Burgess will be more careful next time no doubt.
Halal throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burgess.

Burgess shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Halal manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Halal manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Burgess misses with a straight right.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Halal looks to land a combination but Burgess avoids it well.
Danga de danga de dang - Halal scores with a four punch combination!

Burgess fails with the takedown
and Halal counters with a straight that turns Burgess's legs to rubber! Halal pushes forward with more strikes and Burgess goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
