Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Titan Rain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rain kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is For Heavy Metal we will die!. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 8 - 4, fighting out of Los Angeles, Titan Rain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimmy Doyle!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rain drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Doyle dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Rain has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rain tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Doyle's elbow.
Doyle blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Doyle has a couple of punches blocked by Rain.

Doyle tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Rain struggles to land a body shot inside as Doyle controls his hands.

Rain's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rain closes the distance and clinches up with Doyle, looking for a takedown. Rain pushes Doyle against the cage but Doyle circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rain throws the kick towards the body but Doyle avoids it.

Rain changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rain moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Rain has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Doyle finds it's way round the side to connect with Rain's head.

Rain is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Doyle. Rain does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rain throws an overhand right that lands on Doyle's shoulder, as Doyle tries to avoid the shot.

Doyle is trying to control the position but Rain postures up.
Doyle bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rain's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Doyle stays in close to Rain's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Rain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Doyle attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rain walks forward, straight into a front kick from Doyle.
Doyle throws a lazy right hand but Rain sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Doyle moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Doyle throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rain on the side of the head.
Rain swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Doyle takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Rain displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Doyle throws out the jab.

Rain throws a push kick but Doyle slaps the foot to one side.

The fighters circling - Doyle throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Rain closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rain thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doyle wants to get back to full guard.

Doyle has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doyle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Doyle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Doyle misses with a straight right.
Rain was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Jimmy Doyle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good exchange - Rain coming out on top.
Rain chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rain throws a jab but it's blocked by Doyle.

Rain connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Doyle's hands.

Doyle now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Rain throws a leg kick but Doyle sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Rain drives through and clinches with Doyle against the cage.
Doyle lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Rain drops down looking for an ankle pick but Doyle pulls his leg out and moves away.
Rain shoots in looking for a takedown. Doyle tries to sprawl out of it but Rain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Doyle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rain has taken the fight to the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Titan Rain will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Rain's jab looks to have found its range, popping Doyle under the eye.
Doyle on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Rain manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Doyle on his heels. He'll look to pass Doyle's guard now, I'm sure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rain throws an elbow that misses. Doyle uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rain's guard. Nice move by Doyle!

Rain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Doyle's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doyle has his hands on Rain's head, controlling the position.
Doyle's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Rain with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Rain is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rain avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A cross from Doyle lands.
Doyle thuds his right hand into Rain's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Rain looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Doyle fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rain looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
No joy there for Rain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Doyle swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Doyle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rain.
Rain works over Doyle's head and body with a nice combination.
Doyle thows a left - swing and a miss!
Rain moves out of range of the strikes.
Doyle's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
A jab from Doyle finds it's way through Rain's defenses.
Doyle swings for the body but Rain moves out of range.
Rain lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Rain on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jimmy Doyle.
I think Doyle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
