Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ellsworth Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petersen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Anderson.
Petersen misses with the combination.
Petersen tries for a takedown but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Anderson let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Petersen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anderson is fending him off so far but Petersen persists. Nope, Anderson circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Petersen.

Petersen looks for a takedown but Anderson sprawls well.
Anderson unleashes a big counter combination but Petersen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Anderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Anderson closes the distance and clinches.
Petersen tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Petersen misses with an elbow strike.
Anderson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Petersen throws a knee to the head but misses.

Petersen drags the fight down to the ground.

Anderson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ellsworth Petersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Anderson closes the distance and clinches.

Petersen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Anderson blocks it with crossed arms.
Petersen tries to score a body lock takedown but Anderson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Petersen fails to pull guard.
Anderson wants to get back to striking at distance but Petersen won't allow it.
Petersen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anderson.
Anderson stops a takedown attempt from Petersen.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Petersen is looking for a takedown.
Anderson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Anderson is trying to push Petersen away but Petersen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Petersen manages to pull guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Anderson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Petersen, up you get!
Nice sprawl there from Anderson as Petersen shoots in.
Anderson tries to counter with a clinch but Petersen shakes him off and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Petersen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anderson is fending him off so far but Petersen persists. Nope, Anderson circles away and we're back to standing.
Anderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Petersen shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Anderson throws out a counter right but Petersen avoids it with no problem.
Anderson shoots in but no luck this time.
Petersen appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Petersen goes for a double leg but Anderson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Anderson continues to drive forward.
And Anderson tries to counter it with a takedown but Petersen pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Anderson tries a head kick but it misses.
Anderson sizes up Petersen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Horrible takedown attempt by Anderson or perhaps it was just good defense by Petersen, which made it look bad.
A lazy body kick from Anderson

and Petersen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that.
Petersen fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Anderson wants to control but Petersen postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Anderson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Petersen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Anderson darts in and clinches Petersen up against the cage.
Petersen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Anderson walks away with a smile on his face. Petersen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Petersen misses with a takedown
and Anderson counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Petersen to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Anderson!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eric Anderson!
