PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Murda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denis Blooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mac Murda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Denis Blooper!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murda doesn't manage to clinch there - Blooper circles away.
Murda shoots in looking for a takedown. Blooper tries to sprawl out of it but Murda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Blooper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Blooper fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Murda darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murda stops Blooper from getting back to his feet.
Murda tries to pass to full mount but Blooper defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blooper wants to control but Murda is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Murda thows a huge punch but Blooper dodges it nicely.
Blooper avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Murda.
Murda is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Murda has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Murda stops Blooper from standing up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Murda closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Murda has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Blooper has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Blooper displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Murda.
Blooper tries to clinch but Murda moves out of range.
Mac Murda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Blooper decides to stand up, so the ref orders Murda to his feet.

Blooper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Blooper wants to pass the guard but Murda is keeping the position.
Murda looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Blooper puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Murda is looking to control Blooper's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Murda avoid being mounted?

Murda wriggles free and stands up.
Murda doesn't manage to clinch there - Blooper circles away.

Murda gets caught napping as Blooper dives in and scores a takedown. Murda manages to retain guard.
Murda keeping moving, preventing Blooper from controlling successfully.
Murda has a closed guard, preventing Blooper from standing up.
Murda will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Murda wants to control the position but Blooper says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Murda tries to get to full guard but Blooper has control of the leg.
Blooper is thwarting Murda's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mac Murda will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Murda misses with a takedown attempt - Blooper sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Murda shoots in looking for a takedown but Blooper manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Murda's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mac Murda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Murda breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Murda leaves Blooper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Blooper closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Murda's guard.
Murda wants to stand but Blooper is controlling the position.

and Blooper connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Blooper rushes Murda and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Blooper breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Blooper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Murda, pushing him back against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Denis Blooper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Murda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blooper avoids it really well and circles away.

Blooper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Murda went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Blooper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murda looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

I would just about give that final round to Denis Blooper.
Well Blooper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
