Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Valium (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Durrine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Valium might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Comfortably Numb. Chuck Durrine has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jamie Valium!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Durrine!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durrine tries for a takedown but Valium sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Valium drives through with a takedown into guard.
Valium looking to pass the guard.
Valium advances position into side control!

Valium is trying to get an arm triangle but Durrine is defending well.
Durrine looking for a sweep but Valium has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Durrine working to try and regain half guard.

Valium has control of Durrine's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Durrine regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Valium is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Durrine can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Durrine avoids a series of strikes thrown by Valium.
Durrine is in all sorts of trouble here.
Durrine is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durrine regains half guard.

Durrine looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Durrine actively working from the bottom here.
Valium prevents Durrine from improving his position.

Valium seems to be working for a kimura but Durrine defends the submission attempt.
Valium throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Durrine is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Valium pulls his head out easily.
Durrine gets full guard.

Durrine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Valium can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Durrine looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Valium puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Valium is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Durrine defends it well.
Durrine is trying to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Durrine keeping hold of Valium's head, controlling as best he can.
Durrine has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Valium is working away from the top position though.
Durrine makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Durrine.

Valium is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Valium's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Durrine looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Valium!
Valium keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Durrine is landing with some decent strikes but Valium is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Durrine has hold of Valium's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Valium manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valium is looking to get to half guard.
Valium sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Durrine slows the pace down in half guard.
Valium is trying to get back to full guard.

Valium is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Durrine pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Durrine takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Valium looking for submissions off his back.
Durrine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Valium keeps working.

Durrine is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Valium doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Durrine.
Durrine works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Valium takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Durrine cracks Valium with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Durrine fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Durrine manages to capitalize on a mistake by Valium to take his back!

Valium defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Durrine's arms.
Durrine lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Valium hold on?!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Durrine throws a series of strikes and Valium wriggles onto his back, so he's now mounted. He's in real trouble here.
Valium is wriggling around trying to escape.

Durrine swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Valium is now in Durrine's guard. A big mistake from Durrine there, giving up the dominant position!

Valium thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Durrine has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Valium has passed into side control.
Durrine can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Durrine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Valium tries for a takedown but Durrine circles away easily

and Durrine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Valium's guard.
Durrine postures up in Valium's guard and throws a big left but Valium blocks it.
Valium keeping moving, preventing Durrine from controlling successfully.
Durrine throwing strikes but missing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Valium is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Durrine is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Durrine trying to control but Valium is working from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Durrine doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Valium counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Valium is trying to maintain a safe position but Durrine gets an underhook and turns Valium into the cage.

Valium manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Valium looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Durrine drops back looking for a leg! Valium is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valium manages to kick Durrine off! Durrine jumps back into Valium's guard.
Durrine advances to half guard.
Durrine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Valium keeps working.

Durrine is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Valium is just riding it out for now. Durrine eventually gives up the hold.
Valium has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Durrine is working away from the top position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Durrine seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Valium does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Durrine wants to free his trapped foot but Valium is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Chuck Durrine has got the better of the ground game so far.
Durrine sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Valium defending well though.

Durrine is looking for a kimura but Valium is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Durrine to get the leverage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Valium closes the distance and clinches.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Durrine jumps guard.
Valium passes Durrine's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Valium looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Durrine manages to get to full guard.
Durrine working a defensive guard here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chuck Durrine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Durrine has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
