Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucas Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Micheal Burns!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux stalks Burns and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Burns's face. Burns staggers backwards, shaken.

Burns darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Dux pushes Burns off and gets back to his feet.

Burns closes the distance and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burns can't find room to land a body shot as Dux controls the action.
Dux avoiding damage as Burns throws knees to the body.

Burns has hold of one of Dux's legs. Dux is fighting the takedown attempt but Burns gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Dux bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burns's guard.

Dux trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Burns manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Burns loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Burns throws a big elbow that misses.

Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Dux is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dux is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dux has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Burns has passed into side control.
Burns throws an elbow but Dux slips to the side and avoids it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burns tries for a kimura but Dux is defending well.
Dux is trying to control Burns's posture but Burns avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Burns creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dux sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Dux tries to bench press Burns off him but Burns keeps the position.
Sloppy strikes there by Burns.
Dux is looking to regain half guard here but Burns keeps moving and retains side control.
Dux is working hard here to advance position.
Burns throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dux is trying to control Burns's posture but Burns avoids it.
Burns trying to control the position but Dux is working away.

Dux is breathing heavily.
Burns working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Dux is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Burns's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Burns prevents Dux from improving his position.

Burns wants to free his trapped foot but Dux is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Burns frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Burns looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Burns is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dux can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Burns gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Burns's coach down at Fight Club FC was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Burns's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Dux is trying to break the clinch but Burns has him pressed against the cage.

Dux tightens his grip and picks Burns up, before dumping him to the ground. Burns manages to land in guard.

Burns working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dux doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dux manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dux has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Burns is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns has his foot on Dux's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dux works his way back into a safe position though.

Micheal Burns has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dux stands and steps away. Burns gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dux misses with a body shot

and Burns counters with a single leg into guard. Dux didn't expect that.
Burns throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dux works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Burns with a nice head shot there.
Burns wants to control from the top but Dux keeps moving.
Burns chips away with some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burns accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Burns has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dux avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Burns pushes down on Dux's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Burns wants to take a breather but Dux is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dux gets full guard.
Burns looking to sit in guard and control but Dux gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Dux drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Burns dives on top into guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Micheal Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Dux is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dux is trying to push Burns off with his feet but Burns grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Dux's ankles and Dux is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!
