Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robert Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dean Winchester!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Winchester is defended easily by Griffin.
Winchester has a takedown stuffed.
Nice sprawl there from Griffin as Winchester shoots in.
Robert Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Winchester.
Winchester fails with the takedown
and Griffin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Griffin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Griffin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Griffin stands up out of the half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Winchester doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Griffin counters with a series of strikes. Winchester will be more careful next time no doubt.
Griffin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Griffin shoots in and drives through. Winchester sprawls well.
Griffin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Winchester looks for a takedown but Griffin sprawls well.
Winchester lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Griffin cracks Winchester with a right hand to the side of the head.

Winchester shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Winchester counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Winchester.
Griffin lands with a light punch inside.

Winchester manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Griffin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Winchester is trying to keep Griffin in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin wants to stand but Winchester is controlling his posture from full guard.

Winchester is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Winchester just leaning against Griffin, taking a breather.

Winchester manages to break the clinch.
Winchester throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Griffin darts in looking for a takedown but Winchester gets double underhooks and turns Griffin into the cage.
Winchester throws out a counter right but Griffin avoids it with no problem.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Griffin wants to clinch up but Winchester keeps it at a distance.
Winchester shoots in and drives through. Griffin sprawls well.
Griffin feinted with a counter takedown.

Winchester moves into range and clinches up with Griffin.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Robert Griffin will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Griffin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Griffin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Winchester throws Griffin to one side and escapes!

Winchester has taken the fight to the clinch.
Winchester's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Griffin throws an elbow that misses.
Griffin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Winchester is trying to pull guard but Griffin has him pressed against the cage.
Winchester tries for a takedown but Griffin manages to get underhooks.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Winchester manages to break the clinch.
Griffin blocks a head kick by Winchester.
Griffin changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Winchester takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Winchester throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Griffin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Winchester quickly recovers to half guard.
Winchester is breathing heavily.
Winchester trying to control from the bottom.
Winchester throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Winchester wants to improve his position but Griffin is controlling well.

Griffin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Winchester is just riding it out for now. Griffin eventually gives up the hold.

Griffin decides to return to a standing position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Griffin closes the distance and clinches up with Winchester, looking for a takedown. Griffin pushes Winchester against the cage but Winchester circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Winchester fails to land the takedown.
Robert Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Winchester.
Griffin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Winchester takes the fight into the clinch.
Winchester tries for a takedown but Griffin manages to get underhooks.

Winchester breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Winchester enables Griffin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Winchester manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Griffin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Griffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Winchester is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Griffin won't allow Winchester to sweep him here.
Griffin wants to control from the top but Winchester keeps moving.
Griffin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Winchester is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Winchester scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Griffin shoots in looking for a takedown but Winchester manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Griffin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Winchester shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Winchester darts in and clinches Griffin up against the cage.

Winchester manages to pull guard.
Winchester has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Winchester manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Griffin letting Winchester take a breather here.
Griffin wants a takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Winchester showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Winchester shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Griffin feinted with a counter takedown.
Winchester slaps away a takedown attempt from Griffin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Griffin tries for a takedown but Winchester sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Winchester dives in for a single leg takedown but Griffin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Griffin throws a sloppy head kick and Winchester moves out of range easily.
Griffin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Winchester.
Griffin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Winchester sprawls and moves away.

Winchester dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Winchester.

Winchester gets a clinch.
Winchester on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Winchester is pushing Griffin up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Griffin has had enough of the clinch but Winchester keeps him there for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Griffin is working for takedown but Winchester is calmly controlling the position for now.

Winchester has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Griffin uses from the top position.
Winchester is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Griffin wants to stand but Winchester is controlling his posture from full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Winchester holds on and takes a little breather.

Griffin postures up in Winchester's guard and throws a big left but Winchester blocks it.
Winchester keeping moving, preventing Griffin from controlling successfully.

Griffin is posturing up here but Winchester has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Griffin tries to roll out but it's too tight and Griffin has to tap! Slick submission there by Winchester!
