Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Speedy Atkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Donowitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atkins's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, big in japan. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atkins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Donowitz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Donowitz connects with a leg kick. Atkins looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Donowitz has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Atkins. Donowitz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Donowitz let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Atkins wants to clinch but Donowitz slips to the side
and Donowitz counters with a nice right hand that sends Atkins toppling to the canvas! Atkins scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Donowitz finish him?!

Donowitz is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Atkins had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Good leg kick by Donowitz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Atkins wants to clinch
and Donowitz counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Atkins badly! Donowitz follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Atkins out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Donowitz finished him against the cage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tom Donowitz!
Tom Donowitz was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
