Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Solid Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason has chosen Stressed Out as his entrance music. Aaron Mason will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Solid Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Mason!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason scoring well with a low kick there.
Mason throws a nice inside leg kick.
Snake moves out of range as Mason throws a body kick.
Mason throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mason moves away from the strike by Snake.
Mason was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Snake throws a nice looking combination but Mason bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A countering left hand to the body from Mason misses.
Snake displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Mason attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Snake looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mason!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Snake misses with the ground and pound.
Snake has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mason parries the strikes from Snake easily there. Snake is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mason to escape.

Snake goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mason rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Snake's guard! Nice work there by Mason!
Mason wants to control from the top but Snake keeps moving.

Snake looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mason puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Snake has his hands clasped together around Mason's back. He's all about the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mason wants to pass to mount but Snake is defending the position.

Snake gets back to full guard.
Snake has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Mason looking to sit in guard and control but Snake gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Snake loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Snake's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Snake accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mason has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Snake tries to free his leg and advance position but Mason is retaining full guard.
Snake cracks Mason with a solid left hand.
Snake controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mason is trying to keep Snake in close.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Snake misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Aaron Mason is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mason tried to score with a low kick but Snake checks it.
Mason misses with a low kick.

Snake darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Snake is nestled in close to Mason, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Snake in particular looking to stall.
Mason is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That was a close round but I would say that Solid Snake will probably get the nod.

A head kick misses from Mason.
Mason feints and then cracks Snake's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Snake down.
Mason moves out of range as Snake strikes.
Mason throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Snake thows a left - swing and a miss!

Snake shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mason is trying to defend but Snake finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snake lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Mason felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Snake is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mason has escaped the position, nice work there.

Snake cracks Mason with a big right hand but Mason just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Snake remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Snake seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Snake misses with the combination.
Mason misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mason throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mason tries to clinch there but Snake circles away.

Snake shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Snake was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Snake creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mason sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Snake is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mason's shoulder. That is not cool.

Snake postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mason avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Snake.
Snake connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Mason some visible discomfort.
Check out the look on Snake's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Snake thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Snake passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Mason!
Mason is trying desperately to improve position.

Mason is bucking up trying to escape but Snake cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

A big strike lands for Snake! That's really hurt Mason and he's turned his back - Snake keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Snake jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
