The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D Ippolito moves to clinch but Kulina breaks away
and Kulina cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kulina takes a swing at D Ippolito's ribcage but misses.

Kulina closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
D Ippolito manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
D Ippolito tries to roll over but Kulina keeps him under control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kulina avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Sloppy strikes from Kulina. Those never looked like landing.
D Ippolito feinted with a counter takedown.
D Ippolito takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Kulina counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

I really don't envy Kulina right now.
