The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bentley shoots in and drives through. McReary sprawls well.

McReary moves into range and clinches up with Bentley.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

McReary decides to pull guard.
McReary seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
McReary looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
McReary seems keen to control Bentley's posture.
Bentley wanted to stand there but McReary had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McReary escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bentley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McReary can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bentley looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
McReary wants to improve his position but instead Bentley has moved into half guard.
Bentley is looking to take a break and control but McReary is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McReary controlling the position for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McReary wants to improve his position but Bentley is controlling well.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bentley is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Bentley wants to lay and pray for a moment but McReary keeps working.
McReary trying to hold on to Bentley's head to control him but Bentley postures up.

McReary shoots in and gets a takedown into Bentley's guard.

It looks like McReary might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bentley pulls McReary in close to his closed guard and prevents McReary from doing any damage or advancing position.
McReary is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bentley is trying to control the position but McReary postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bentley tries to work over McReary's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

McReary's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

McReary closes the distance and pushes Bentley back into the cage.

Bentley is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Bentley jumps guard but McReary turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Bentley tries to stall but McReary uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

McReary ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McReary no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

You can see the frustration on McReary's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

McReary closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

McReary is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
McReary wants to control but Bentley passes into side.
McReary is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Bentley is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
McReary is desperately trying to improve his position but Bentley has a good base and remains in mount.
McReary wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Bentley avoids the attempt from McReary to control.

Bentley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McReary is looking to escape.
McReary is in all sorts of trouble here.

McReary clinches up with Bentley and pushes him back against the cage.
Bentley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McReary is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
McReary looks to throw an elbow but misses.

McReary works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Bentley is trying to control the position but McReary postures up.

Bentley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McReary defends well.
Bentley has his hands on McReary's head, controlling the position.
McReary postures up in Bentley's guard and throws a big left but Bentley blocks it.

McReary drops back looking for a leg! Bentley is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bentley manages to kick McReary off! McReary jumps back into Bentley's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bentley or perhaps it was just good defense by McReary, which made it look bad.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

McReary closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McReary seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

McReary is trying to work for a kimura but Bentley is defending well.
Bentley trying to hold on to McReary's head to control him but McReary postures up.

Let's hope that McReary has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bentley is looking to control McReary's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bentley avoid being mounted?

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

McReary rushes Bentley and presses him up against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Bentley struggles to land a body shot inside as McReary controls his hands.

McReary has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bentley regains guard immediately.

Jason McReary comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McReary has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
