Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Test One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Grove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kendall Grove has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Test One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kendall Grove!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Grove looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? One is fending him off so far but Grove persists. Nope, One circles away and we're back to standing.
One is looking to counter punch.
Grove shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as One sprawls well. One wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grove gets slowly back to his feet.
One misses with a hook.
Grove goes for a double leg but One avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as One continues to drive forward.
Test One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kendall Grove.
One jabbing away but nothing is landing.
One seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
One swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
One throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
One throws a body punch but Grove moves out of range.
Grove misses with a takedown attempt
and One connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

One misses with a body shot.
Grove tries to score a power double leg takedown but One sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Grove somewhat.
One was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Grove moves out of range of the strikes.
Grove has a takedown stuffed.
One throws a lazy right hand but Grove sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Grove shoots in but no luck this time.
One misses with a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Grove shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. One defends it nicely.
Sloppy strikes from One. Those never looked like landing.
One misses with a hook.
One is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Grove's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
One misses with a body shot.
Grove looks for a takedown but One sprawls well.
One throws a big shot that misses.
Grove uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by One.

Grove tries for a takedown but One sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Grove shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with One but One pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Grove looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
One misses with a left hand

so Grove counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Grove stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. One swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
One seems keen to control Grove's posture.
One looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Grove drops back looking for a leg! One is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and One manages to kick Grove off! Grove jumps back into One's guard.
Grove won't allow One to get back to his feet.
One might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Grove seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Grove works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
One is in trouble now - Grove has advanced to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Test One dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


One throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Grove changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. One tries to avoid it but Grove manages to keep hold of a leg and drag One to the ground. One escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Grove misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
It looked like One wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Grove shoots in but no luck this time.
Test One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kendall Grove.
One throws a body shot but no joy.
Decent striking displayed by One there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
One throws a shot from downtown. Grove moves away and avoids it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grove.
One was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Test One is winning the standup battle so far.

Grove darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Grove trying to control from half guard but One is working away.
One pushes Grove off looking to stand but Grove dives back in and keeps control.
One is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
One is trying to stand up here but Grove is controlling him well.
One tries to get to full guard but Grove has control of the leg.
Grove is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Grove in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. One tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Grove!
