Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Sweeney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anth Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anth Dixon!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dixon shoots in for a takedown but Sweeney shows good takedown defense.

Dixon gets caught flat footed, as Sweeney shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dixon striking off his back but it's not causing Sweeney any problems.
Dixon keeping moving, preventing Sweeney from controlling successfully.
Sweeney is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sweeney would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Dixon wants to stand up but Sweeney is controlling him.

Sweeney avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dixon wants to stand but Sweeney is controlling the position.
Sweeney controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dixon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Sweeney wants to control but Dixon is keeping busy.
Dixon prevents Sweeney from improving his position.
Sweeney has hold of Dixon's hands but Dixon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Dixon throwing shots but Sweeney is blocking nicely.
Nice strikes from Dixon there.
Dixon wants to stand up but Sweeney manages to regain full guard.
Dixon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sweeney works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dixon scoring with some ground and pound.

Sweeney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dixon's guard.
Sweeney pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dixon is keeping the position for now.
Sweeney trying to control but Dixon is working from the bottom.
Dixon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dixon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sweeney controls the pace.
Sweeney seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dixon for as long as he can get away with.
Sweeney forces his way into half guard.
Dixon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dixon throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Sweeney tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Dixon is staying active underneath Sweeney, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sweeney stops Dixon from getting back to his feet.
Sweeney is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Sweeney is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dixon won't allow Sweeney to pass to mount.
Dixon missing with punches from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sweeney is tying to control. Dixon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sweeney blocks the strikes from Dixon.

Sweeney decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Sweeney fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dixon sprawls well initially but Sweeney persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dixon is trying to stand up here but Sweeney is controlling him well.
Dixon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Sweeney has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Sweeney is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dixon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Sweeney looking to finish Dixon with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dixon!

Sweeney is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Sweeney!
