Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rail Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyrie Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rail Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Kyrie Perry!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Perry lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
A shot to the liver by Perry. Beautiful body shot.
Perry lands with a nice body punch.
Perry misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Gracie tried to counter with a leg kick but Perry avoided it.
Perry rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Gracie moves into the clinch.
Perry's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Perry is trying to drag Gracie to the mat but Gracie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gracie lands with a left to the head.
A head punch on the inside from Perry fails to land.
Gracie throws a head punch that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Perry scores with a nice hook to the head.
Perry wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Gracie turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Perry is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gracie is controlling him well.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Perry wants to get back to his feet.
An elbow from Gracie crashes against the mat.

Perry is trying to get back to his feet.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Perry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Gracie has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Gracie looking to control but Perry is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Perry is trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Perry wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Gracie wants to finish this one by submission but Perry is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gracie.
Perry's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Perry is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie is trying to control here but Perry has managed to regain half guard.

Perry wants to get back to his feet.
Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Perry pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gracie dodges the punch combination from Perry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rail Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Perry swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Perry manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Perry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Perry lands a nice shot that snaps Gracie's head back.

Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Perry looks like he's trying to stand up.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Perry pushes Gracie off looking to stand but Gracie dives back in and keeps control.
Rail Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A lazy left from Perry finds it's target.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Perry scores with a body shot.
Perry lands an overhand right.
Perry uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.
Gracie cracks the inside of Perry's front leg.
A looping hook to the body misses from Perry. Gracie does a little dance to reset his feet.
Gracie half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Perry works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
A big right from Perry misses.
Gracie takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kyrie Perry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Perry does no damage.
Gracie tries to clinch
and Perry counters with a straight right hand.
Perry moves out of range as Gracie throws a body kick.
Perry looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Gracie wants to clinch but Perry slips to the side
and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Gracie comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Perry throws a body punch but Gracie moves out of range.
Perry stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Perry takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Perry.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Perry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Perry changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Gracie on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Perry moves out of range of the leg kick from Gracie.

Perry is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.

Gracie is looking to counter the offense by Perry and move into the clinch.
Perry takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Perry sprawls and moves away.

As Perry tries to get set, Gracie tries to push him back and clinch up but Perry manages to avoid the attempt.

Kyrie Perry showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gracie shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Perry.
Perry misses with a series of wild punches.
Perry throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.
Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Perry throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Perry throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Gracie throws a head kick but Perry moves out of range.
Gracie looks to land a body kick but Perry moved away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Perry swings widly with a right hand
and Gracie counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Gracie throws a half hearted mid kick.
Perry lands with a hook. Gracie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Perry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Perry sprawls and moves away.
Perry stuns Gracie with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gracie does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Perry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.
Gracie takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Gracie takes one to the side of the head.
Perry throws a jab when Gracie was well out of range.
Kyrie Perry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Perry throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As Perry backs away, Gracie returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Perry has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gracie.
Gracie thumps Perry with a low kick.
Kyrie Perry seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Good shot there by Perry.
Perry comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Perry throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.

and Gracie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gracie tries to clinch but Perry is having none of it.
Gracie looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Perry avoids it really well and circles away.
Perry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie.

Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Perry is just out of range.

and Perry cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Perry swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Perry blocks a head kick by Gracie.
Perry rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gracie counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A combination from Perry does no damage.

Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Perry tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Perry's guard.
Gracie stops Perry from standing up.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Perry manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Perry blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Perry has had enough of the clinch but Gracie keeps him there for the moment.

Perry is looking for a takedown.
A right hook to the body lands for Gracie.
Perry is trying to break the clinch but Gracie is controlling him.
Gracie throws a punch but it's blocked by Perry.

Kyrie Perry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Perry has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
