Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bash O Brien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Deric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bash O Brien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sir Deric!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

O Brien moves into the clinch successfully.

O Brien breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
O Brien doesn't manage to clinch there - Deric circles away.
O Brien tries to clinch but Deric is having none of it.
Deric tries to clinch up.

Deric closes the distance and clinches.
O Brien gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Deric.
O Brien lands a knee to the head.

It looks like Sir Deric has been cut.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
O Brien tries to land a knee to the head but Deric blocks with his arms.
A nice left hand lands by O Brien.

O Brien breaks from the clinch.
O Brien clinches but Deric breaks the clinch

and Deric counters with a takedown into side control.
O Brien is not content to let Deric control the position.

Deric looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Deric working away.

Deric goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, O Brien has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Deric but great work by O Brien.
Deric tries to get back to half guard but can't.
O Brien gets to mount! Deric was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
O Brien sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
O Brien tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
O Brien controlling his opponent.
O Brien misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Deric is desperately trying to improve his position but O Brien has a good base and remains in mount.
Deric is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

O Brien tries to control but Deric wriggling away.

O Brien gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Deric circles away from the clinch attempt

and Deric counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for O Brien!
O Brien tries to reverse the position but Deric maintains control.
Deric trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Deric goes for an armbar but O Brien turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from O Brien.
Deric looks gassed!
O Brien sitting in guard, not really doing much.
O Brien won't allow Deric to sweep him here.
Deric controls O Brien momentarily but O Brien frees himself.

Deric had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. O Brien is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Deric Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take O Brien's back instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sir Deric will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Sir Deric's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

O Brien looks to clinch

and Deric counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Deric controlling the pace.
Deric wants to pass the guard but O Brien is defending well.
O Brien controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
O Brien wants to control but Deric is keeping busy.
Deric wants to control but O Brien is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

O Brien is positioning himself well to prevent Deric advancing to mount.
O Brien is refusing to be controlled, as Deric sits in half guard.
O Brien trying to hold on to Deric's head to control him but Deric postures up.
Deric trying to control the action but O Brien is working from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Deric avoids the head kick by O Brien.
O Brien darts in trying to clinch

and Deric counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Deric.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Deric can't break the clinch.

O Brien breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Deric steps to the side to avoid the strikes from O Brien.
O Brien dodges the punch combination from Deric.
O Brien loads up on a big right hand but Deric slips the punch.

O Brien pushes Deric up against the cage in a clinch.

O Brien pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Deric shoots for a takedown but O Brien saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Deric is breathing heavily.
Deric on the wrong end of a nice hook.
O Brien tries to clinch up

and Deric counters by moving into the clinch.

O Brien breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Deric shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says O Brien as he avoids it easily.
Deric circles away from the clinch attempt

and Deric counters with a shoot takedown. O Brien fights it but they end up in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Deric accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

O Brien has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Deric off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
O Brien digs a good hook to Deric's body.
Deric on the wrong end of a nice jab.
O Brien lands a left and a right that sends Deric crashing to the canvas! O Brien dives into mount looking to finish!

Deric is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
O Brien can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Deric is looking to escape.
Deric is still in real trouble! Can O Brien finish him?
Deric seems to have recovered his senses.
O Brien is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Deric is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

O Brien looking to secure an arm triangle but Deric defends it well.
Deric tries to lock up and control but O Brien gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Deric can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bash O Brien dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Sir Deric's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

O Brien closes the distance but Deric moves to the side

so Deric counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
O Brien wants to stand but Deric is controlling the position.
Deric looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
O Brien wants to get back to his feet but Deric is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Deric decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on O Brien, up you get!
Bash O Brien is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A decent looking body kick lands there for O Brien.
O Brien looks to clinch

and Deric decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in O Brien's guard.
Deric wants to control from the top but O Brien keeps moving.
O Brien working a defensive guard here.

O Brien is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

O Brien escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Deric closes the distance and clinches up with O Brien, looking for a takedown. Deric pushes O Brien against the cage but O Brien circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
O Brien throws a series of punches but Deric moves out of range.
Deric keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from O Brien.

O Brien tries to clinch up.
O Brien lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Deric circles away quickly and effectively.

Deric decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
O Brien won't allow Deric to pass to mount.
O Brien is trying to stand back up but Deric is controlling him
Deric passes the guard and advances to mount!

Deric jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… O Brien is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by O Brien and Deric has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
O Brien wants to control but Deric postures up.

O Brien is trying to escape the position but Deric is controlling the position.
Deric working away.

Deric is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. O Brien knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Deric tries to move to full mount but O Brien actually manages to regain half guard.
Deric keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Deric seems to be working for a kimura but O Brien defends the submission attempt.
O Brien is looking for a sweep. Deric is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
O Brien works his way to full guard. Good work.
