The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Herritt feints and as Courrau raises his hands in defense, Herritt changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Herritt wants to stand and escape but instead Courrau has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Herritt is controlling Courrau's posture.
Herritt is trying to control the position but Courrau postures up.

Herritt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Courrau can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

and Herritt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Courrau won't be happy with that.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
