Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boreas Notus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Notus has chosen Bloc Party- Blue Light as his entrance music. Boreas Notus will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Abbott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boreas Notus!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Notus showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Abbott.
Notus ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Notus comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Abbott swinging wilding here.
A punch combination from Abbott misses.
Abbott throws a hook to the side of Notus's head but Notus sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Notus lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like David Abbott has been cut.
Notus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Notus slips a jab and a cross from Abbott.
Abbott throws a series of punches but Notus avoids them all with ease.
Notus avoids a punch combination nicely.
Abbott misses with a straight right.
Notus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Abbott misses with a series of wild punches.
Abbott is breathing heavily.

Notus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Abbott is fending him off so far but Notus persists. Nope, Abbott circles away and we're back to standing.
David Abbott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boreas Notus.
Abbott looks to land a combination but Notus avoids it well.
David Abbott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Notus avoids a punch combination nicely.
A thudding body kick lands there by Notus!
Notus throws a front kick that sends Abbott stumbling back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Abbott takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Notus closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Notus jabs at Abbott's body.
Notus shoots in for a takedown but Abbott shows good takedown defense.
Abbott takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Notus throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Abbott's head.
Notus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Notus scores with a nice body kick.

Notus lands a head kick. Abbott smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


David Abbott's cut is getting worse.
David Abbott is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Notus shoots in but no luck this time.

Notus shoots in and bounces Abbott off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Abbott can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Notus controls the pace.
Abbott is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Notus is controlling him.
Notus with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Notus wants to control from the top but Abbott keeps moving.
Notus slips nicely into half guard.
Abbott wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boreas Notus dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Notus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Notus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Notus is looking to take a break and control but Abbott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Notus working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Notus tries to advance to mount but Abbott denies him.
Abbott is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Abbott is not content to let Notus control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Notus has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Notus looking to control and managing it successfully.

Notus jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Abbott manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Notus advances to full mount.
Notus has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Abbott's face.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Notus throws some wild stikes that Abbott manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abbott has given up his back here. Will Notus look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Notus looking to break Abbott's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Abbott remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Notus will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Abbott is trying to get back to his feet but Notus has full control of the position and if anything, Abbott has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Abbott controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Abbott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Notus tries to keep control of the position but Abbott is staying busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Notus is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Abbott is defending well though. Notus let's go of the attempt for now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boreas Notus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Abbott throws a combination that misses
enabling Notus to counter with a crisp jab.
Notus shoots in but no luck this time.
Abbott tries to clinch up but Notus circles away and keeps his distance.
Notus misses with a takedown attempt - Abbott sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Abbott fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Notus manages to avoid it.
Abbott misses with a wild combination.
Abbott fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abbott tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Notus counters with a big head kick but Abbott shrugs it off.

Sloppy strikes there by Notus.
Abbott is looking to get back to his feet here but Notus is keeping cool and he's managed to take Abbott's back.
A lull in the action here.

Notus has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Abbott! Can he survive? No! He's out! Notus gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
