The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bur has time to react.
Chavez goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Chavez gets a clinch.

Chavez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Bur gets to his feet - Chavez follows without any prompting.
Chavez misses with an uppercut

and Bur counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Chavez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bur. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bur drops back looking for a leg! Chavez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chavez manages to kick Bur off! Bur jumps back into Chavez's guard.

Bur tries to pass to full mount but Chavez defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bur in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Chavez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bur!
