Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Church (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Vee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Church swivels and escapes.
No joy there for Vee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Church really is a fat lump.

Church drives through with a takedown into guard.
Church wants to control from the top but Vee keeps moving.
Vee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Church is one step ahead there.
Vee is still trying to improve position.
Vee keeping moving, preventing Church from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Church content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vee can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vee looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Vee goes for a double leg but Church avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Church continues to drive forward.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Church in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Church is taking a breather. Vee says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Vee is staying active underneath Church, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Vee shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Church is trying to defend but Vee finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Church throws a series of punches but Vee moves out of range.

Vee feints and as Church raises his hands in defense, Vee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vee controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Vee is looking to pass into half guard but Church pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Church is in guard.

Church might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Vee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Church gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Church's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
