PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fahed Joudeh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Wise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Wise will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joudeh doesn't manage to clinch there - Wise circles away.
Wise lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Joudeh lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Joudeh.

Wise looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wise lands a nice short elbow.
Wise has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wise trying to control the action but Joudeh is working from the bottom.
Wise looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Wise seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Joudeh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joudeh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wise prevents Joudeh from improving his position.
Wise lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Wise with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Joudeh tries to get to full guard but Wise has control of the leg.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Joudeh slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Wise throwing strikes from guard but Joudeh blocks nicely.

Wise decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Joudeh avoids the head kick by Wise.
Joudeh misses with a jab, cross combination.

Joudeh shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Joudeh showed some decent athleticism there.

Wise kicks off Joudeh and gets to his feet.

Wise drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Wise tries for a kimura but Joudeh is defending well.
Joudeh bucks up and tries to throw Wise off but instead Wise has got his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joudeh wants to escape the position.

Wise lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Wise is punishing Joudeh with strikes - can he finish him?!
Joudeh prevents Wise from getting a body triangle.
Wise punishes Joudeh with strikes from the back mount.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Joudeh tries to close the distance and clinch but Wise swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Joudeh cracks Wise with an open hand slap.

Joudeh looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wise works Joudeh's body with a nice hook.
Wise swats away the attempt to clinch by Joudeh.
Joudeh definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fahed Joudeh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joudeh takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fahed Joudeh is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wise drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Joudeh is looking to reverse the position.

Wise thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Wise lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Joudeh tries to improve position but can't.

Wise is trying to get an arm triangle but Joudeh is defending well.
Joudeh tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Wise keeps control of the position as Joudeh tries to break free.

Wise is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Jacob Wise spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
