Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Odin Thorsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keola Fatu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Odin Thorsen had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Keola Fatu!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorsen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Thorsen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Thorsen throws a hook but Fatu blocks it.

Fatu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thorsen napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Thorsen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fatu has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Thorsen throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Thorsen gets caught flat footed, as Fatu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fatu is in close to Thorsen's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Fatu postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Thorsen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Fatu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fatu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fatu stops Thorsen from standing up.

Thorsen manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Fatu slips a jab from Thorsen.

Thorsen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fatu doesn't seem bothered though.

Thorsen connects with a crisp jab.
Odin Thorsen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thorsen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fatu.
Thorsen scores with a jab to the jaw.
Fatu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fatu there as he acknowledges the shot.
Thorsen lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Fatu dives in for a single leg takedown but Thorsen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Thorsen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Thorsen wants to stand but Fatu is controlling the position.
Fatu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Thorsen wants to stand up but Fatu is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fatu wants to pass the guard but Thorsen is keeping the position.
Thorsen is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Cylon Training Academy that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Thorsen pushes Fatu off and scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thorsen looks to throw the jab but Fatu is out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Thorsen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Thorsen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fatu will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Fatu moves into the clinch successfully.
Fatu has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Thorsen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Odin Thorsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keola Fatu.
Fatu throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Thorsen blocks it with crossed arms.

Thorsen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Thorsen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fatu throws a body shot but no joy.
Fatu slips a jab from Thorsen.
Thorsen scores with a body shot.
Fatu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Thorsen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thorsen looks to land a combination but Fatu avoids it well.
Thorsen takes a swing at Fatu's ribcage but misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fatu is defended easily by Thorsen.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fatu on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Fatu wants to clinch up but Thorsen keeps it at a distance.
Fatu takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Fatu walks into a stiff left hand from Thorsen.
Thorsen stuns Fatu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Thorsen is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Fatu looks winded!
Thorsen stuffs the takedown attempt from Fatu. Fatu gets slowly back to his feet.
Thorsen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Fatu's head backwards.

Thorsen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Fatu sprawling to the canvas! Fatu rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Thorsen finish him?!

Fatu is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thorsen closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Fatu out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Odin Thorsen!
