Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Galvao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Anderson Galvao has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Anderson Galvao seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Galvao as he avoids it easily.
Sato looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Galvao shoots in and bounces Sato off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Galvao in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Galvao wants to stand but Sato has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Galvao decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sato, up you get!

Galvao shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Galvao showed some decent athleticism there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Sato has his foot on Galvao's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Galvao works his way back into a safe position though.

Sato throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Galvao escapes and throws Sato's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Galvao gets caught flat footed, as Sato shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sato drops back looking for a leg! Galvao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Galvao manages to kick Sato off! Sato jumps back into Galvao's guard.
Galvao is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Galvao has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sato off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Galvao thows a body kick. Sato tries to catch it but that hurt him.

and Galvao counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sato is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Galvao tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Galvao has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Sato tries to bench press Galvao off him but Galvao keeps the position.
Sato manages to work his way to half guard, despite Galvao's best efforts.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Galvao is working to tighten is grip on Sato's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Sato has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Galvao is really squeezing tight and eventually Sato passes out! Galvao breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
