Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cameron Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mulligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whyte comes to the cage accompanied by Caribbean Jamz. John Mulligan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cameron Whyte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Mulligan!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mulligan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Whyte tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mulligan was well out of range. Poor timing from Whyte.

Whyte clinches up against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mulligan.
Mulligan tries to throw a body punch but Whyte avoids it by throwing Mulligan back against the cage.
Mulligan is looking to break free of the clinch but Whyte has double underhooks.
Mulligan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Whyte walks away with a smile on his face. Mulligan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Whyte misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mulligan is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Whyte throws a good cross that connects.

and Mulligan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mulligan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Whyte as he avoids it easily.

Mulligan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Whyte stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whyte wants it to stay on the feet.

Mulligan clinches up against the cage.

Whyte manages to break the clinch.
Mulligan shoots in looking for a takedown. Whyte tries to sprawl out of it but Mulligan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Whyte manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Whyte forces Mulligan back against the cage and clinches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Whyte scores with a jab to the body.
Whyte's corner calls for a 1-2. Whyte obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mulligan tries to clinch up.
Mulligan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whyte tries to avoid it but Mulligan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whyte to the ground. Whyte escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mulligan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Whyte cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Whyte connects with a single shot there.

Mulligan has closed the distance and engaged Whyte in a clinch.
Whyte lands with a left to the head.
Whyte avoiding damage.

Whyte moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mulligan shoots for a double leg takedown but Whyte sprawls well. He's pushed Mulligan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cameron Whyte is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Whyte throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mulligan on the side of the head.
Whyte lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Whyte is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
