Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sexton Hardcastle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Galvao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardcastle comes to the cage accompanied by How I Could Just Kill a Man- Rage Against the Machine. Galvao comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sandstorm kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Sexton Hardcastle had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Hardcastle.
Galvao tries to clinch but Hardcastle is having none of it.

Galvao pushes Hardcastle up against the cage in a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Galvao ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Galvao no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Galvao not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hardcastle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Galvao swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Galvao is trying to keep Hardcastle in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardcastle tries to free his leg and advance position but Galvao is retaining full guard.

Hardcastle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Galvao swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hardcastle trying to control the position from guard on top but Galvao is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hardcastle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Galvao on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Galvao is on top in guard.

Hardcastle is trying to control the position but Galvao postures up.

Galvao is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hardcastle is just riding it out for now. Galvao eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardcastle is doing well to control the position and prevent Galvao from advancing to side control.

Galvao is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hardcastle tries to roll over but Galvao keeps him under control.
Hardcastle throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Galvao manages to pass to side control.
Hardcastle is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Hardcastle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hardcastle tries to get out of the position.

Galvao wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hardcastle, who protects the arm well.

Galvao tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Galvao has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Galvao scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hardcastle to see if he's OK.

Galvao is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hardcastle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardcastle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Galvao wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hardcastle is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Hardcastle shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hardcastle showed some decent athleticism there.
Galvao makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Galvao.

Galvao is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hardcastle throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Galvao's body to avoid the submission. Galvao has instead reached around Hardcastle's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Galvao arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
