PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lacey Loop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iroquois Pliskin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pliskin has chosen Metal Gear Solid Main Theme as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Iroquois Pliskin!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loop misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Horrible takedown by Loop or perhaps it was just good defense by Pliskin which made him look bad.
Loop really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Loop tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pliskin paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pliskin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Loop is not content to let Pliskin control the position.
Loop can't do much from the bottom here.
Loop is trying to escape the position but Pliskin is controlling the position.
Pliskin wants to control but Loop is keeping him busy.
Pliskin passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Loop!

Loop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pliskin on the ground.

Let's hope that Pliskin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Despite being in the dominant position, Iroquois Pliskin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pliskin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Loop is breathing heavily.
Pliskin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Loop tries to bum rush Pliskin with a series of wild strikes but Pliskin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Pliskin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Loop won't be happy with that.

Loop is controlling an arm, preventing Pliskin from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Loop tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pliskin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Loop gets caught flat footed, as Pliskin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Iroquois Pliskin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Pliskin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Loop looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Pliskin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Pliskin tries to advance to mount but Loop denies him.
Loop is trying to get back to half guard.
Loop manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Pliskin has his foot on Loop's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Loop works his way back into a safe position though.

Loop's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Loop is in a horrible position here. Pliskin smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Loop has left one of his arms exposed and Pliskin doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Loop screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
