PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Od Bulerk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simpson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Burzum - Key To The Gate kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Michael Simpson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bulerk sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bulerk throws a quick counter head kick but Simpson was just out of range.

Bulerk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Simpson gets back to full guard.
Simpson wants to sweep here but Bulerk controlling him for the moment.

Bulerk's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bulerk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Simpson is working an open guard so Bulerk takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Simpson dives in for a single leg takedown but Bulerk sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bulerk seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

and Bulerk holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Od Bulerk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Simpson.
Bulerk misses with a short punch on the inside.

Bulerk has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Simpson regains guard immediately.

Bulerk gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Simpson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bulerk passes Simpson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bulerk lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Simpson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Simpson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bulerk is working away from the top position though.
Simpson has hold of Bulerk's hands but Bulerk slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Simpson is in trouble now - Bulerk has advanced to mount!

Simpson tries to improve his position but Bulerk has taken his back! Bulerk has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Simpson tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Bulerk pushes Simpson away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
