PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Star Dust (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quentin DeBramalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dust kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is For Heavy Metal we will die!. Quentin DeBramalo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Our spies down at at The Butcher's Block inform us that DeBramalo has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dust looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
DeBramalo tries to get to full guard but Dust has control of the leg.

Dust looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks DeBramalo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Still in half guard, Dust seems content to control.
Dust thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed DeBramalo's head.
Dust has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dust is keen to just control but DeBramalo is a slippery customer.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dust connects with a nice short shot to DeBramalo's temple.

It seemed like DeBramalo was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dust, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Star Dust was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
