Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Schilling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gasan Umalatov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Umalatov has chosen Don Omar - Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umalatov with a poor takedown
and Schilling connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Umalatov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Schilling stuns Umalatov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gasan Umalatov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Umalatov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Schilling cracks Umalatov with an open hand slap.
Umalatov throws a looping overhand right but Schilling ducks down to avoid it.
Umalatov throws a series of punches but Schilling moves out of range.

and Schilling counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Joe Schilling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gasan Umalatov.
A looping hook to the body misses from Schilling. Umalatov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Umalatov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schilling wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Umalatov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Schilling has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Schilling and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Schilling misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Umalatov misses with a hook to the body
and Umalatov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Umalatov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Schilling did well to prevent Umalatov getting side control.

Schilling is defending against the submission attempts here by Umalatov.

Umalatov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Schilling slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Schilling has his foot on Umalatov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Umalatov works his way back into a safe position though.
Umalatov wants to pass the guard but Schilling is keeping the position.

Umalatov drops back looking for a leg! Schilling is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schilling manages to kick Umalatov off! Umalatov jumps back into Schilling's guard.

Schilling is working an open guard so Umalatov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Schilling looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Schilling connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Umalatov's hands.

Umalatov throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Umalatov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schilling's waist but Schilling gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Umalatov off to one side.

Umalatov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Umalatov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Schilling is trying to control Umalatov's posture but Umalatov avoids it.

Umalatov has hold of Schilling's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Schilling tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Umalatov cranks the arm and Schilling screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Schilling, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
