Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Lancaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson slips under a jab.

Sampson drives through and clinches with Lancaster against the cage.
Lancaster is pressed up against the cage. Sampson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lancaster down to the mat. Lancaster avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lancaster could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sampson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Sampson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lancaster defends well and Sampson ends up having to push Lancaster into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Sampson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lancaster pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Sampson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lancaster avoids it.
Lancaster tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sampson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Sampson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sampson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lancaster uses from the top position.
Sampson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Lancaster is looking to stand up but Sampson isn't so interested in that idea.
Lancaster might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sampson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lancaster, pushing him back against the cage.

Sampson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lancaster circles away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sampson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sampson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lancaster's sensitive parts.
Sampson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Horrible takedown attempt by Sampson or perhaps it was just good defense by Lancaster, which made it look bad.

John Sampson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sampson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
