Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Warren Sap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Benoit's choice of entrance music: Whatever - Our Lady Peace. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit fails to land the takedown.
Benoit throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sap's waist but Sap gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benoit off to one side.
Sap shoots in for a double leg but Benoit sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sap scores with a jab to the body.
Benoit fails with the takedown

and Sap counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Warren Sap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Benoit.
Sap sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Benoit defending well though.
Benoit manages to get to full guard.
Benoit preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Sap stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Benoit gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sap counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Benoit's guard now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sap working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Benoit's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sap sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Benoit's guard.

Benoit on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Sap is looking to take a break and control but Benoit is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Benoit has eaten all the pies!
Benoit tries to roll over but Sap keeps him under control.

Benoit is trying to get back to full guard.
Benoit keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Sap looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

BOOM! Sap connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Benoit wants to control but Sap is having none of it.
Sap lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Benoit hang on?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Benoit is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sap lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
A nice elbow there by Sap.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Benoit is bucking up trying to escape but Sap cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Sap cracks Benoit with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
