PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Kruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kruger might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ako ay Pilipino. Freddy Kruger has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Freddy Kruger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andy Jr!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruger throws an off balance right hand
and Jr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jr staying out of range there.
Kruger throws a lazy right hand but Jr sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jr throws out a counter right but Kruger avoids it with no problem.

Jr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kruger napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jr throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jr manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kruger's guard. Nice work there by Jr.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kruger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Freddy Kruger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Jr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Andy Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jr dives in and grabs Kruger's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kruger pushes down on Jr's head and hops out.

Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Kruger manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Jr dives in for a single leg takedown but Kruger sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kruger is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jr.
Jr looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kruger is looking to control Jr's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kruger avoid being mounted?

Jr closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jr looks up at the clock and then as Kruger takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jr smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
