And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Miguel Van Gogh!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins shoots in but Van Gogh avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Van Gogh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Van Gogh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Van Gogh throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawkins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawkins trying to keep a closed guard but Van Gogh is proving a slippery customer.
Van Gogh connects with a couple of short punches.
Van Gogh wants to pass the guard but Hawkins is keeping the position.

Hawkins wants to sweep here but Van Gogh controlling him for the moment.
Van Gogh with a flurry of punches that miss.
Van Gogh trying to control but Hawkins is working from the bottom.
Van Gogh keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hawkins's head.
Hawkins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Van Gogh controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Van Gogh pushing down on Hawkins's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Van Gogh wants to take a breather but Hawkins is having none of it.
Van Gogh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hawkins is looking to control Van Gogh's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hawkins avoid being mounted?
Van Gogh is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Hawkins manages to get to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Van Gogh! Hawkins is out on his feet! Van Gogh rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Hawkins is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Hawkins is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miguel Van Gogh!
