Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jenji Ueda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuya Takeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ueda comes to the cage accompanied by Requiem for a Dream. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jenji Ueda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuya Takeshi!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeshi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Takeshi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Ueda decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Takeshi is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Ueda sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Takeshi defending well though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takeshi is pressing down on Ueda's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ueda trying to control the position from guard on top but Takeshi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Takeshi has his hands on Ueda's head, controlling the position.

Ueda wants to get up but he can't break Takeshi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Takeshi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ueda wants to control from the top but Takeshi keeps moving.
Takeshi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ueda takes a kick to the side of the head.
Takeshi slips under a jab.
Takeshi lands with an overhand left.
Takeshi drops Ueda with a nice combination! Takeshi dives into Ueda's guard, looking to finish!

It looks like Jenji Ueda has been cut.
Takeshi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Oh Ueda is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Takeshi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ueda works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ueda seems to have got his legs back now.

Ueda wants to stand up but Takeshi is controlling him.
Ueda wants to improve his position but instead Takeshi has moved into half guard.
Takeshi stops Ueda from getting back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ueda is trying to stand.
Ueda is looking to control Takeshi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ueda avoid being mounted?
Ueda is trying to stand up here but Takeshi is controlling him well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No joy there for Takeshi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Takeshi swats away the attempt to clinch by Ueda.
Ueda staying out of range there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazuya Takeshi dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ueda tries to clinch up but Takeshi circles away and keeps his distance.
Takeshi jabs at Ueda's body.
Ueda staying out of range there.
Takeshi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ueda.
Takeshi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Takeshi thows a left - swing and a miss!
A nice combination there by Takeshi.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Takeshi throws a right hand that Ueda ducks under and follows up with a left that Ueda also avoids with ease.
Ueda fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ueda doesn't manage to clinch there - Takeshi circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ueda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oooh a lovely combination from Takeshi sends Ueda down but not out. Takeshi dives into side control looking to finish.
Takeshi slows the pace down.
Ueda tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Takeshi landing strikes from the mount and Ueda is in trouble!
Ueda tries to hold on but Takeshi pushes him away.
Takeshi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Takeshi looking to control but Ueda is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Takeshi looking to control and managing it successfully.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kazuya Takeshi just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Takeshi cracks Ueda with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Ueda throws a hook but Takeshi avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Takeshi scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


Jenji Ueda's cut is getting worse.
Kazuya Takeshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A combination from Takeshi does no damage.
Takeshi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Ueda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazuya Takeshi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ueda lands a lovely overhand right.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ueda.
Ueda fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Takeshi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ueda moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ueda tries to close the distance and clinch but Takeshi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Takeshi misses with a looping right.
Takeshi lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Takeshi lands with a shot to the body.
Takeshi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takeshi works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Takeshi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Takeshi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ueda needs to keep his hands up - Takeshi had a free shot at his head there.

Ueda tries to close the distance and clinch but Takeshi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Takeshi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Ueda lands a high kick!
Takeshi grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Ueda takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Takeshi cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
