PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Harold Hitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remo McCllum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harold Hitman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Remo McCllum!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hitman gets caught napping as McCllum dives in and scores a takedown. Hitman manages to retain guard.
Hitman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hitman is trying to control the position from the bottom.

McCllum stands and steps away. Hitman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
McCllum doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hitman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
McCllum shoots in but no luck this time.

McCllum manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hitman on his heels. He'll look to pass Hitman's guard now, I'm sure.
McCllum advances to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCllum not doing much here.
McCllum scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Hitman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McCllum on the ground.
Hitman taking some punishment here, with McCllum in his half guard.
McCllum takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McCllum has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCllum's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hitman is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCllum is controlling the pace.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McCllum lands a nice short elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McCllum controlling the action here.

McCllum stands up and beckons Hitman to join him on the feet.
McCllum looks for a takedown but Hitman sprawls well.
Hitman swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
McCllum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hitman tries to avoid it but McCllum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hitman to the ground. Hitman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harold Hitman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Remo McCllum.
Hitman cracks McCllum with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hitman lands a lovely overhand right.
Hitman lands with an uppercut that bounces McCllum off the cage and back into range.
Nice jab there from Hitman.
Nice straight punches there by Hitman. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hitman.


McCllum is rocked!
Hitman lands a jab to the nose.
McCllum is still on wobbly legs! Can Hitman finish him?

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McCllum shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
McCllum trying to control the pace.
Hitman pushes McCllum off looking to stand but McCllum dives back in and keeps control.
McCllum seems to have recovered his senses.

McCllum stands up out of the half guard.
McCllum shoots for a double leg takedown but Hitman sprawls well. He's pushed McCllum's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McCllum goes for a double leg but Hitman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hitman continues to drive forward.

McCllum gets the takedown into side control.
McCllum just content to control the position.
Hitman tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Hitman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCllum looking to control and managing it successfully.
Hitman is in a horrible position here. McCllum smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McCllum controlling from the full mount.
McCllum thowing shots but they're missing.
McCllum controlling the position easily from mount.
McCllum has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hitman's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Remo McCllum will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


McCllum fails with a takedown attempt.
Hitman is looking to counter punch.
A combination from Hitman does no damage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McCllum is defended easily by Hitman.
Hitman lands a jab to the nose.
McCllum shoots in and drives through. Hitman sprawls well.
Harold Hitman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Remo McCllum.
Hitman lands with a cross.
McCllum with a poor takedown
and Hitman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCllum bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hitman tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McCllum tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hitman has left one of his arms exposed and McCllum doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Hitman screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Remo McCllum!
