Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pickens works Dyson's body with a nice hook.
Pickens misses with a body shot.
Nice shot lands for Pickens.
Dyson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dyson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dyson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pickens.
Pickens changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pickens misses with a body punch
and Dyson counters with a left and a right that stings Pickens.
Dyson shoots in but Pickens avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Pickens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dyson manages to avoid it.
Dyson instigates a clinch.
Pickens swings wildly with an uppercut but Dyson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Pickens scores with a nice hook to the head.
Pickens has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Pickens wants to get back to striking at distance but Dyson won't allow it.
Pickens stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Pickens tries to circle away but Dyson has him pinned against the cage.
Pickens tries to land knees in the clinch but Dyson avoids the damage to the body.

Pickens lands with a right to the head.

Pickens is trying to force a seperation but Dyson has the dominant position.
Dyson breaks from the clinch.
Dyson shoots in and gets a takedown into Pickens's guard.
Pickens is looking to stand up but Dyson isn't so interested in that idea.
Dyson trying to control the position from guard on top but Pickens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dyson throws a big right hand that misses.

Dyson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dyson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dyson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pickens swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dyson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dyson throws an elbow that misses. Pickens uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dyson's guard. Nice move by Pickens!
Dyson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pickens is looking to work some ground and pound but Dyson has wrist control.
Pickens not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dyson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Pickens throwing strikes from guard but Dyson blocks nicely.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pickens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pickens throws a strike but Dyson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dyson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pickens works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Dyson throws a right and a left that Pickens avoids nicely.
Pickens throws out a counter right but Dyson avoids it with no problem.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Pickens is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Dyson rather than just go for the knockout.
Pickens throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Pickens leaves Dyson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Pickens counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jarrod Dyson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dyson is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Pickens just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Dyson has gone limp and this one is over!
